Shine on You crazy diamond is such a great song because it's very sad but touching and haunting. The lyrics explain Syd Barrett perfectly, and his fall into madness.

the songs melodic beauty and simplicity combined with heartfilled chords make it one of the greatest songs ever on any list

5See Emily Play - The Piper At The Gates of Dawn

This song does not appear on Piper it was only released as a single but you can find it on the Relics compilation.
